映画について語りたい時ネイティブが使う英会話の始め方

On the TV behind me is the Academy Awards and this inspired me to do a lesson about movie English.

Now, when I was teaching English at various Eikaiwa schools in Japan, when we did lessons on movies we often asked questions like “Who’s your favourite actor?” or “What ‘s your favourite movie?”

Now really we don’t ask these questions in normal conversations about movie. Normally we would ask something like

“Hey, have you seen any good movies recently?”

Or maybe  if you had seen a movie and you liked it, you would like to tell your friend, say

” I saw The Impossible the other night, and it was brilliant.”

Ok, so  let’s focus on a few sentences and statements.

“Have you seen any good movies lately?”

“I saw The impossible the other night, and it was brilliant.”  

“I saw The Hunger games the other night, and it was terrible.”

Ok so, a question for you . Have you seen any movies recently?

後ろにあるテレビではアカデミー賞がやっています。それで映画についてレッスンをしようと思いつきました。

僕が日本の色々な英会話学校で教えていた時、 映画についてのレッスンでよく、こういう質問をしました。”Who’s your favourite actor?”（好きな俳優はだれですか？） とか “What ‘s your favourite movie?（好きな映画は何ですか？）”

実はこのような質問の仕方はあまりしません。大抵の場合は　”Have you seen any good movies recently?（最近何かいい映画観た？）” とか

もしあなたが映画を観てそれが良かったと友だちに教えたい時には　” I saw The impossible the other night, and it was brilliant.（この間　The impossible を観たんだけど、とても良かったよ）”　などと言います。

ではいくつかの表現に注目してみましょう。

Have you seen any good movies lately?　最近何か良い映画観ましたか？
